G6 Process Instrument
When one weighing or force signal isn’t enough — controlling several batching vessels at once, calculating force vectors across multiple points, or capturing fast dynamic events in a high-vibration plant — most instruments force a compromise. You add boxes, lose synchronization, fight drift, and turn PLC integration into a project of its own.
The BLH Nobel G6 removes that compromise. As a next-generation multi-channel process instrument, the G6 combines up to 8 high-speed input channels, fully synchronized sampling, and a modular hardware design in one rugged unit engineered for demanding industrial environments. It builds directly on the field-proven G4 platform — trusted for more than 20 years — while adding an advanced system-on-chip architecture, a wide range of fieldbus protocols, and fully customizable embedded software.
Whether you need a straightforward load cell indicator for a single silo or a multi-channel batching controller orchestrating eight weighing channels, the G6 reconfigures to your application — even after installation — so your investment keeps pace as your process changes.

Core Features Built for Demanding Industries
Every capability below is engineered around what process and automation engineers actually need: synchronized measurement, clean PLC integration, and accuracy that survives shock, vibration, and temperature swings.
- Up to 8 high-speed synchronized channels Simultaneous, time-aligned sampling delivers true measurement that isn’t corrupted by severe vibration or shock; a genuine dynamic force measurement system, not a basic indicator.
- Fully customizable software Customizable embedded software with dedicated packages for demanding industries. Configure measurement logic, control, and interfaces to your exact needs, and reconfigure as requirements change.
- Modular, field-upgradeable hardware Panel-mount supports up to 6 modules; DIN-rail up to 3. Add a high-speed weighing module, analog output, or digital I/O without a full replacement.
- Comprehensive communication for PLC integration High-speed Ethernet and RS485; Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP; PROFINET, PROFIBUS and DeviceNet fieldbuses; plus analog output. A true PROFINET weighing indicator.
- Extreme accuracy 0.002% static accuracy, 16,000,000-count resolution, and offset drift below 10 nV/V/K for repeatable readings under thermal and mechanical stress.
- Two form factors A panel mount weight indicator with a 5.7-inch color touchscreen (IP65), or a compact DIN rail weight transmitter with view-pan display (IP20) for cabinet installation.
- Embedded measurement & control Net and gross weight, force, level supervision, setpoints, min/max values, and motion supervision come standard.
- Built to last Robust aluminum casing and shock-absorbing design, each module individually tested, developed and manufactured in-house at BLH Nobel (part of VPG), with remote browser-based live-view.
Software That’s Shaped to Your Process
The hardware is only half the story. The G6 ships with versatile BLH Nobel software that adapts to your application and your needs — not the other way around. Choose from dedicated, industry-specific software packages, or let our application engineers tailor the functionality, measurement logic, and user interface to your requirements.
Because the embedded software is fully reconfigurable, you preserve your existing BLH Nobel investments and can keep developing the solution as your process evolves — during integration, after installation, and for years to come.
Dedicated software packages: metal processing, mining operations, pulp & paper, offshore operations, food & beverage, chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, and crane weighing and other custom applications.
G6 Instrument Units
The G6 comes in two physical units, so you can match the instrument to your installation — a touchscreen panel-mount unit for the operator-facing front of panel, or a compact DIN-rail unit for in-cabinet integration. Both share a robust aluminum housing and the same modular platform.
- G6 Panel Mount (operator-facing, IP65)
- Robust aluminum housing
- 5.7-inch color backlit touchscreen plus press-buttons
- Supports up to 6 modules
- Available with DC or AC power supply
- IP65 enclosure rating
- G6 Rail Mount (in-cabinet, IP20)
- DIN 46 277/3 and DIN EN 50022 rail-mount, aluminum housing
- Compact view-pan display with press-buttons
- Supports up to 3 modules
- Available with DC power supply

Industry Applications
The G6 performs wherever measurement has to stay accurate under pressure — across metals and mining, pulp & paper, offshore, food & beverage, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and custom crane weighing.
Tank, silo & hopper weighing
Real-time, accurate contents data for inventory and level supervision, summing multiple load cells into one trusted value as part of a complete tank silo hopper weighing system.
Multi-channel batching
Run several batching processes simultaneously across up to eight channels with expanded I/O, using synchronized measurement to tighten cutoff points and improve dosing accuracy.
Multi-force vector calculation
Measure all eight channels synchronously to resolve multiple forces and perform complex real-time calculations single-channel devices can’t deliver.
High dynamic force measurement
Capture high-sample-rate events in machine automation, press-machine real-time control, and quality-assurance monitoring.
Crane weighing & custom applications
Monitor lifting forces and protect against overload with accurate, real-time crane load measurement, dependable even in offshore and other punishing environments, alongside other tailor-made custom solutions.
Engineering Questions, Answered
How do you measure multiple forces simultaneously with one instrument?
You need synchronized, time-aligned sampling across channels — not just multiple inputs. The G6 samples all of its channels (up to eight) simultaneously and synchronously, so every reading represents the same instant in time. That lets you resolve multiple forces and perform vector and complex calculations from a single instrument, even in systems affected by severe vibration or shock.
Which weight indicator supports PROFINET, Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP for PLC integration?
The G6 does, in one unit. It offers PROFINET, PROFIBUS and DeviceNet fieldbuses; Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP protocols; and high-speed Ethernet plus RS485 interfaces, alongside analog output. That breadth makes G6-based PLC integration weighing straightforward across virtually any plant control architecture.
What is the best multi-channel weighing instrument for batching processes?
For multi-vessel or high-throughput batching, look for synchronized high-speed channels, expandable I/O, and configurable batching software. The G6 functions as a multi-channel batching controller with up to eight weighing channels and expanded I/O options, plus customizable batching software, where simultaneous measurement and high-speed capability translate into higher batching accuracy and faster, more reliable cutoffs.
How many load cells can a single process weighing instrument handle?
Per weighing channel, the WFIN1/2 module drives up to 16 load cells at 5 VDC excitation (no barriers), and the high-speed HSWF2 module drives up to 4 load cells per channel at 10 VDC (barriers OK). With up to eight channels in one G6, the total load cell count scales well beyond what a single-channel load cell controller can manage.
What weighing instrument works for high-speed dynamic force measurement in harsh industrial environments?
A force measurement instrument for fast events needs a high sample rate, synchronized channels, and a rugged enclosure. The HSWF2 module samples at 20,000 samples per second with up to 800 updates per second, and the G6’s synchronized sampling plus robust aluminum, shock-absorbing casing (IP65 panel mount / IP20 rail mount) make it dependable for machine automation, press control, and QA monitoring where vibration and shock are constant.
